📍 Ethiopian Forces Withdraw From Border Towns:
Ethiopian government forces have reportedly pulled back from additional towns near the Eritrean border, including Shiraro, Adi Daero, Adi Nebrid and Adi Hageray.
📍 Tigray Forces Claim Deadly Ambush:
Tigrayan forces claim that their Army 92 unit ambushed Ethiopian government troops near Azeba as they moved north from Hawzien. The Tigrayan side claims 200 government soldiers were killed and 300 wounded.
📍 Gunfire Erupts in Alamata:
Heavy protests and gunfire erupted in Raya Alamata as Amhara residents demonstrated against local administrative and election-related activities. Security forces reportedly opened fire to disperse crowds chanting for the withdrawal of Tigray Peace Forces.
📍 Moyale Clashes Spread to Five Districts:
Fighting between Oromo and Somali forces has entered its fourth day and spread to five districts. Security forces are reportedly digging trenches as the conflict escalates. Somali sources claim 58 Oromia regional forces have been killed and 62 wounded. Separately, six Somali civilians have reportedly been killed and 14 wounded. According to a Kenya Red Cross report, more than 1,000 families have fled across the border into Kenya.
The violence reportedly began when an Oromo traffic police officer lowered a Somali flag and attempted to replace it with an Oromia flag at an office. Somali gunmen shot and killed him, followed by reports that Oromo forces retaliated by killing a Somali police officer.
